Gas prices may have dropped a bit across the country, but Infinity Insurance is staging one-day events across the country to ease gas costs for drivers in major cities.

The company announced on Monday that it had partnered with a Chicago-area to offer $0.99 / gallon gasoline to drivers in who visited the station between 11 AM and 2 PM the next day, with details on a special website. The event, Refueling Chicago, is the second such gas deal offered by the insurer, which staged a similar event earlier this year in Atlanta.

Infinity says that the Refueling Chicago event was just one part of a national promotion, and is just one facet of the company's low-cost take on auto insurance. A division manager, Dan Davis, told the press, "Gas prices and the economy affect everyone. Other insurance companies spend large sums on advertising. We'd rather provide a direct benefit to the communities we serve."

While the Chicago and Atlanta events are over, Infinity may be holding similar "refueling" events in other major U.S. cities. Though no information is currently posted, any such events will be announced via the company's website, InfinityAuto.com.
